Collection: WWII Jedburgh Prints
America's first shadow warriors and the precursors to US Army Special Forces and CIA Paramilitary, the Jedburgh teams were dispatched by the OSS and SOE to conduct unconventional warfare in France.
The Jedburgh team depicted is equipped with a mixture of British and American equipment as was typical for the mixed nationality force. The Jeds are directing French Resistance fighters as they prepare an ambush for quickly approaching German troops. The French "maquis" are utilizing a mixture of American and British supplied weapons as well as captured German items. This scene illustrates the "buildup" stage in the Unconventional Warfare operational model. During "buildup", the UW force begins to develop its combat effectiveness in small scale harassment of the enemy.
